NUCLEP has an outstanding record of reliability on the fabrication of high-technology products and also provides industrial and engineering services for the nuclear and conventional energy sectors.

Nuclep has one of the world's most modern and best equipped heavy components factory, capable of handling and forming large-sized parts weighting up to 600 tons.

Here, it is possible to perform a wide range of heavy services, such as bending, bend rolling, straightening and cutting of plates up to 300 mm thick (hot work).

Waldrich Coburg Gantry Milling

NUCLEP owns one of the most versatile machine tools available in the industry. It mills, planes, bends and even turns. Equipped with numerical control and a number of angle cutter heads, it is able to perform several machine operations on different faces, with a single fastening and a high degree of precision. It has the following specifications:

Maximum load on table - 120 t
Maximum machining width - 2,450 mm
Maximum machining length - 10,000 mm
Maximum height under column - 1,800 mm

Speed - 6 to 750 rpm
Control - numerical

For stress relieving of welds on tubes, vessels and metal structures specified by technical or physical reasons or when such treatment must be performed on site, due to large size, Nuclep has 6 electromagnetic induction machines: 3 for 120 kW, 3 for 200 kW and 170 for 2.7 kW electric resistors.

This equipment is also used in welding operations that require preheating and stable temperature during the process, offering the advantage of keeping temperature concentration.

NUCLEP has modern equipment that provides an extensive, high analytic welding capability for large component pieces. These are 14 automatic submerged welding machines, 12 of which are column type. From those, 10 are moving column type. These machines can operate up to 1400A and are capable of welding cylindrical bodies with 10 m of diameter.

In addition, we have auxiliary welding equipment, including power operated rollers with carriage capacity of 500 t, and tilting and rotating positionary tables with 300 t capacity.

NUCLEP also has several equipments for SMAW, TIG, MIG/MAG, SAW and Flux Core welding, which complete the factory's welding set.

For precision deep drilling operations, frequently required on tubes, sheets and support packing panels for heat exchangers, Nuclep has two KOLB HTB-III machines, with numerical control, three horizontal spindles and a BTA drill system. The spindles can operate simultaneously, drilling 018 mm to 032 mm holes. The front spindle drills up to 065 mm.

The drilling depth is 1,100 mm at 0,5 mm/m precision. For minor thickness, of up to 200 mm, "cannon", standard, and clearance drills can be used.

Technical characteristics

Maximum horizontal travel - x = 5,000 mm
Maximum vertical travel - y = 3,000 mm
Maximum spindle travel - z = 1,100 mm
Number of spindles = 3
Main (lower) spindle drilling capacity = 065 mm
Middle and upper spindle drilling capacity = 032 mm
Control = numerical
