NUCLEP has a training center

NUCLEP´s personnel are highly qualified. In order to maintain that high quality level, employees attend specific training programs and permanently upgrade their skills. These factors, combined with on-the-job experience, keep Nuclep prepared to develop the technical solutions needed to operate at the sophisticated technological level required in both nuclear and conventional components fabrication.

This policy resulted in the creation of Nuclep's training center in 1980. The center was a pioneer in the qualification of welders, according to international standards, nondestructive test inspectors, levels 1 and 2, for ultrasonic, x-ray, magnetic particles and liquid penetrating.

The training center provides elementary and basic mechanical schooling for apprentices chosen through a selection process opened to the general public. The students become eligible for employment in the factory after successfully completing theoretical and practical disciplines.

The two-year course is comprised of social and mechanical disciplines and is approved by the Department of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

The professional qualification course offers options in many different areas, such as:: Mechanical Adjustment, Mechanical Furnery, Milling Cutter, Mechanical Maintenance, Boiler Factory, Welding, Technical-Mechanical Design/Drawing, Mandrill Operations, Vertical Lathe Operations and Quality Control Operations.

Technical Improvement

In order to maintain and improve the technical and scientific knowledge acquired, Nuclep's technicians are submitted to training programs and professional upgrading, in Brazil or abroad, on a regular basis.

Qualification

The training center at Nuclep is host to Brazil's first Examination and Qualification Center for Maintenance Boiler Shoppers (CEQUAL), established through a Technical and Financial Cooperation Term signed by Nuclep, the Brazilian Maintenance Association (ABRAMAN) and SENAI-DR/RJ. The term is part of the National Qualification and Certification Program, created in 1991, in accordance with the objectives of the PBQP- the Brazilian Program of Quality and Productivity.
